  1. They are creating hype that will sell to a section of population they are aiming for - the rich with lots of disposable income.

The QE policies of the Fed has made a global financially-savvy class of people very wealthy. Similar to the roaring twenties!

  2. I don't know how people haven't taken to calling it the Chump Tower.

  3. G&M now running a story on how the price of BC bud is driopping due to U.S. states' legalization.

I predict we'll soon figure out what was REALLY driving Vancouver house prices.....but even then, the excuses will fly.

  4. If you were rich, young and beautiful, you too can live in the Trump Tower and party with your peers. They money the spend in the city will eventually trickle down. Meanwhile, the peasants can just eat cake.

  5. QE made the rich richer so they can afford these luxury condos and are attracted to these perks. From my observations, when a Trump tower goes up, it's a bad omen.

  7. It's like a beer commercial for RE.
P.S. The US Fed is considering 'tapering' the stimulus. It's a matter of time before the pain starts.

  8. I'm surprised they didn't make (any of) the lead characters Asian...or would that be way too obvious?

  9. I agree with the first poster... and I will take it to its logical conclusion; that there will be a financial calamity the likes of which we cannot begin to comprehend. The insane money printing policies of central banks and the easy credit environment will blow up in our faces.

  10. If you were uneducated and can make 50-100k+/yr/basement tax free growing mary jane? Would you? It's probably not that easy now to make that kind of money with all the competition now. But if you had that kind of cash, and if you were Asian with the mentally that real estate is the best asset ever, then you would plough it all into buying a home.

Canada will reap what it sowed.

  12. James Cheng (Vancouver architect) quote: “Tiah’s decision to approach Trump surprised Cheng because Cheng doubts the Trump brand will impress potential buyers in Vancouver. Cheng believes Vancouverites are not as brand-conscious as those on North America’s east coast and perhaps much of the world.”

  14. It's a surprisingly good ad that appeals to a certain segment that must have the unique pretentious perks of this development. But it screams holiday home. I can't see anyone living here full time if their life is that exciting. In fart, I don't know where you'd go in Vancouver to feel the excitement and exclusivity promoted in the video unless you knock on the door of the Real Housewives of Vancouver and get drunk and into a knock-down fight with them and then fly home.

  16. That advertisement looks like some high schooler's idea of 'the good life'. Totally faux, all imagery gleaned from magazine and television advertising. What a boring existence they depict, the pursuit of branded merchandise; how useless.

  17. What tedeastside said............

If you "really" have money.............the in which is displayed in the commercial................you are smart enough not to live in Vancouver............because you have travelled the world and you know it's just a damp grey shithole.
